You’ll explore Iceland in your own 4x4 with a rooftop tent or a comfortable campervan, which you can pick up on day 1 of your road trip at our basecamp in Reykjavik.
When you depart, you'll receive a printed roadbook with a fully mapped-out route for each day, including fun insider info and tips. You're not required to follow that route all the time, but it's a handy guide.
The camping spots are already reserved for you in advance. Upon arrival, you just need to check in and choose a spot. Each campsite has sanitary facilities and shelter.
Everything you need for camping will be provided on day 1 of your road trip: pillows, sleeping bags, a camping table, chairs, a cooking pot and pan, a gas stove with gas bottles, plates, and cups.
A few weeks before departure, you'll get access to our mobile app. There you'll find a detailed itinerary, a Google Maps map with routes and important locations, info about your flights, a playlist for the journey, and a live chat where you can communicate with the rangers on-site and other participants.
You will receive a warm welcome in Reykjavik from our Dutch-speaking team on-site. They are available 7 days a week – via chat in the app and by phone – to help you with any issues or answer your questions.

Explore the glacial lagoon of Sólheimajökull on a kayak tour through a spectacular landscape.
Accompanied by an experienced guide, you’ll paddle among floating icebergs at the foot of the glacier, surrounded by a peaceful and awe-inspiring atmosphere. This 2.5-hour activity is accessible to everyone, even with no prior experience, and offers a unique perspective of the glacier, far from the crowds. All necessary equipment is provided (dry suit, life vest, paddle).

Discover Iceland’s marine wildlife during a 2-hour sea expedition departing from Húsavík, Iceland’s whale watching capital. This is without a doubt one of the most epic things to do in Iceland. You will board a Zodiac boat in a small group (maximum 12 people) to observe whales, dolphins, puffins, and other marine animals.
With a 98% sighting rate, you will sail along the coast accompanied by an experienced guide who will explain the different marine mammals and their natural habitat.

Want to discover Iceland in a different way? Hop on the back of an authentic Icelandic horse and enjoy a 2-hour ride through stunning landscapes.
No experience? No problem! This horseback excursion is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. Guided by a knowledgeable local, you’ll get to know this unique horse breed, famous for its special gait and gentle temperament.

Experience a unique snorkeling adventure in the crystal-clear waters of Silfra, between the tectonic plates of America and Europe, in the heart of Þingvellir National Park. Accompanied by an experienced guide for 2.5 hours, you will explore this spectacular geological fissure. The water offers exceptional visibility up to 100 meters, and the sensation of floating between two continents is unforgettable.

We offer a 7 or 10-day road trip, fully mapped out, so it’s not possible to adjust the duration or itinerary of the trip. However, you are free to follow the route exactly or deviate from it as you wish, and to extend your stay on your own initiative (for example, by staying a few extra days in Iceland after the road trip).
Iceland Nomads is specially designed for groups of 2 or 3 people.
If you travel alone, you can join WeAdventures, which offers trips specially designed for solo travelers.
Feel free to contact us in advance to check availability.
Within 5 days of your registration, you will need to pay a deposit of 35% to confirm your trip. After that, you have until 45 days before departure to modify your options and pay the balance. If you change your options, the total amount will be recalculated automatically.
If you haven't opted for damage coverage, you will also need to pay a deposit before departure (more info in the insurance section).
There are different payment options. Did your payment fail? It’s probably due to an error when entering the reference number or exceeding your account limit.
Our food pack contains freeze-dried meals that just need hot water and some ingredients to cook yourself.
We have a meat version and a vegetarian version that include 3 meals per person per day for the entire duration of your trip.
Note: Please be aware that the food pack is not suitable for people with allergies or those on a strict diet, as it may contain traces of peanuts, gluten, and other allergens.
Unfortunately, our road trip is not designed for solo travelers, mainly due to the long distances to cover. We recommend traveling with at least 2 people, and prices are always calculated based on this. It’s possible to go alone, but in that case, the base price is doubled.

Yes, absolutely. You can travel with a child as long as your group does not exceed 3 people per vehicle. That’s the maximum we recommend to keep the trip comfortable, especially with all the camping gear provided.
If you are traveling with 3 people and your child is over 8 years old, we will provide an additional ground tent. If they are younger, they can sleep with you in the roof tent or in the converted van.
If you are traveling with a young child, you are also entitled to an additional discount. Just email us to request it.
If you want to travel with 2 children or more, unfortunately, you will need to book 2 vehicles. With all the camping gear included, traveling with more than 3 people in the same vehicle is not comfortable.
For this trip, you must be at least 21 years old and have held a driver's license for 2 years.
Upon your arrival in Iceland, you are warmly welcome by our French-speaking team, who will give you an explanatory note before your road trip begins.
Throughout the journey, you’ll find useful information in our mobile app, which also includes a messaging feature: you can chat with other participants leaving on the same date, and a team member is available in case of emergency.
