Did you take the shuttle from Reykjavik airport? It will take you directly to the base camp, where a member of our team will greet you. After receiving the instructions and the keys to your 4×4 or van, your Icelandic adventure can begin.

Your journey starts off smoothly, heading towards the south of Iceland. First stop: a natural hot spring hidden in the heart of nature, perfect for getting into the Icelandic vibe. Next, head to the crater of Kerið, an ancient volcano now filled with a lake that has spectacular blue-green reflections.

You will spend the night in Hella, a small peaceful village surrounded by typical Icelandic landscapes.

The second day of your road trip in Iceland takes you to the heart of the South of Iceland, between waterfalls and glaciers.

Start with the majestic Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind its curtain of water, then continue to Skógafoss, an impressive 60-meter-high Icelandic waterfall whose roar resonates throughout the valley.

Next, head to the Sólheimajökull glacier and admire its glacier tongue streaked with volcanic ash. You can take a kayak tour on its glacial lagoon (if booked).

In the afternoon, head to the beach of Sólheimasandur, where the wreck of an American plane has been resting in the black sand since 1973. It's a place that’s both strange and fascinating, a testament to the raw power of the Icelandic elements.

You’ll end the day at a favorite camping spot, a place still untouched, nestled among spectacular landscapes… the exact location will be revealed to you once you arrive.

You leave Vík and follow the road that runs along the cliffs and lava fields to Vatnajökull National Park, the largest glacier in Europe.

On the way, don't miss the Fjaðrárgljúfur canyons, which are 100 meters deep and sculpted by glacial waters. A panoramic trail offers breathtaking views.

Once you arrive at Skaftafell, you can set off for a guided glacier hike (if reserved). Among crevasses, blue ice, and absolute silence, it's one of the most beautiful experiences Iceland has to offer.

You will spend the night next to the national park, surrounded by mountains and ice.

Today, you continue your journey eastward, still at the foot of the Vatnajökull.

Your first stop: the famous Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon where blocks of ice slowly drift toward the ocean. Right next to it, Diamond Beach offers a unique spectacle: pieces of ice sparkle on the black sand, like diamonds in the sun.

Then, head to the Stokksnes peninsula, a spectacular site dominated by the Vestrahorn mountain. With black sand dunes and golden reflections at sunset, it’s a must-visit for photographers and lovers of wide-open spaces.

You’ll finish the day in the lush valley of Fossardalur, at a spacious and peaceful campsite.

Today, you’re off to explore the East Fjords, a wilder and lesser-known region where the roads wind between steep mountains and lush valleys.

The road to Seyðisfjörður is one of the most picturesque in Iceland, winding through the mountains. This Icelandic village is a true cultural gem, known for its colorful wooden houses and iconic blue church. Along the way, you can stop at waterfalls, viewpoints, and puffin watching spots.

After exploring this charming village and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the fjord, you’ll head towards Reyðarfjörður, one of the largest fjords in the East.

You’ll spend the night at a quiet campsite, surrounded by mountains and overlooking the sea. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing evening in the heart of the Icelandic fjords.

Today, we’re heading north! The road winds between mountains and lunar plateaus.

Make a must-stop at the Dettifoss and Selfoss waterfalls, among the most powerful in Europe. The roar of the water and the mist rising create an impressive atmosphere.

Then continue to the northern coast and the charming village of Húsavík, known as the Icelandic capital of whale watching. If you’ve booked the excursion, hop on for a sea outing to meet whales, dolphins, and puffins.

In the evening, enjoy camping by the sea with a stunning view of the ocean.

Today, you’ll explore northern Iceland, with its lakes, caves, and volcanic landscapes on the agenda.

Start with a visit to the beautiful Lake Mývatn, known for its rich birdlife. Then, head to Hverir, a geothermal area filled with bubbling mud pools and steaming fumaroles, a truly otherworldly landscape. You’ll also visit Grjótagjá, a mysterious lava cave made famous by Game of Thrones.

You’ll have the chance to go horseback riding on a real Icelandic horse (with reservation). Along the way, you'll pass even more fascinating volcanic sites.

In the evening, camp on the coast, near natural hot springs. Who knows, you might catch a glimpse of the northern lights from your rooftop tent!

Two routes are available to you:

• If you're traveling by 4x4, set off on the spectacular crossing of the highlands via the F35 (Kjalvegur) road. Along the way, discover the colorful massif of Kerlingarfjöll before heading to the Golden Circle region. End your day with the must-see Geysir and Gullfoss, two of the country's most famous natural wonders.

• If you're traveling by van, continue your adventure to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a microcosm of Iceland where cliffs, black beaches, and volcanoes come together.

You’ll finish your day in the Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO site where you'll spend the night in an exceptional natural setting or on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

• For those in 4x4, the day starts with a unique experience: a snorkeling session in the Silfra fissure (if reserved), where the tectonic plates of America and Eurasia meet. Then, it's off to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, nicknamed “Iceland in miniature.” Explore its fishing villages, the cliffs of Arnarstapi, and the majestic Snæfellsjökull.

• For those in a van, today you'll visit the Golden Circle: Geysir, Gullfoss, and the Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Last day on the Icelandic road!

You can choose to go for a hike to the Glymur waterfall, one of the highest in Iceland, or head straight to Reykjavik to enjoy your last evening.

Back in the capital, stroll through the colorful streets, admire the Hallgrímskirkja church, and end the day in a café at the old harbor.

Overnight at a campsite near the base camp, perfect for a quiet evening before departure.

Unfortunately, it's time to head home... You need to return your 4x4 or van and the keys to the base camp by 10 AM.

If you booked the airport shuttle through us, you will be leaving in the morning.
